Betalo is a payment institution under the Payment Services Act (2010:751) and is supervised by the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority. All communications between Betalo and our customers, as well as between Betalo systems, are encrypted and protected with 128-bit Extended Validation SSL certificates. Betalo does not store any card details; this is handled solely by Dibs. Betalo monitors all transactions to detect unusual activity and protect against possible fraud. Betalo uses Mobile BankID and BankID for secure identification and login. Betalo is operated in data centers accredited according to PCI — DSS Level 1 with limited access and 24/7 monitoring. Betalo follows OWASP's recommendations for the products and platforms we use.
Betalo accepts all types of cards, i.e. debit cards, charge cards and credit cards. Betalo also accepts all Visa, Mastercard and American Express issued in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, within the EU and outside the EU. We also have partnerships with several card issuers.
A partner card is a card issued by a company or organisation with which Betalo has a partnership. These card issuers offer their customers to use Betalo at a lower fee or completely free of charge. When you add a partner card, the system automatically recognizes which card it is and gives you the correct fee for using Betalo.
Betalo uses a simple pricing model with no fixed fees.The service charge for using a partner card ranges from 0% up to 1.9%.The service charge for other cards ranges from 1.9% up to 3.9%.
